End-of-Life Doula

Description of resource: Lucy is an end-of-life doula in Hampshire and Franklin County. She received her training through the International End-of-Life Doula Association, INEDLA. Her intention in working as a doula is to provide compassionate deathcare through offering comfort, company, and guidance to individuals and their loved ones facing a terminal illness or death. This is done through deep active listening, and providing a non-judgemental space to speak openly and frankly about whatever may arise. This looks different for every person, there is no one way. Lucy can assist in or open the discussion for creating an advanced care directive and end-of-life planning, or assist with empowment and advocacy through general conversations that allow for a dying person to express how they want to die. End-of-life projects, vigil planning, navigating the early stages of grief, and rituals can also be explored.
