Here at End With Care, our goal is to connect the public to the end-of-life resources they need. There are numerous end-of-life related events taking place throughout Massachusetts. For your convenience, we have put together the following list for this month.
WMRC Senior Expo-Franklin
Friday, October 6th
Come out to the Franklin Community Center and enjoy a lovely fall afternoon complete with health screenings, flu shots, and a free lunch for seniors. The Expo will also include live music, raffles and a special senior fashion show. Call the Franklin Senior Center at 508-520-4945 to sign up.
Thursday, October 12th
Death Cafe is designed to encourage participants to talk about death and dying in a comfortable, friendly atmosphere. On October 12th, join other members of the Boston community to have an interesting chat. Topics of the discussion can range from grieving strategies to hospice planning. Golden Tones Chorus Concert-Chestnut Hill
Friday, October 13th
Golden Tones Chorus is a group of nearly 70 retired adults who perform about 50 concerts a year. They bring their fun-filled shows to those who are most needed in the community, particularly senior citizens. They will be singing at Wingate Residences on October 13th. They always welcome new members; every rehearsal is an open rehearsal, with no musical experience necessary. For a full list of their concerts and rehearsal times, please click here.
Guidance Center Fall Fling-Cambridge
Friday, October 20th
The Guidance Center at Riverside Community Care is dedicated to providing quality mental healthcare, developmental and brain injury services, and assisted living services. At their annual fall fling, enjoy cocktails and hors d’oeuvres while learning about their plans to expand their services throughout Massachusetts. Tickets are $35. Greater Waltham Healing Garden Benefit Concert-Waltham
Saturday, October 21st
All Healing Garden concerts are dedicated to those undergoing cancer treatments. The concert will feature Grammy Award-winning musicians, Cathy Fink and Marcy Marxer, among others. Training to Bring Dance to People with Dementia
Saturday, October 21 - Sunday, October 22
Dance For Connection is an organization devoted to improving the quality of life for older adults through dance and movement therapy. This two-day workshop offers a training for caregivers, movement therapists, mental health counselors, and anyone who enjoys dancing and working with people with dementia.
